Moving Down to San Diego!

When we got to San Diego in the beginning of September we got to see Steve, Angela, Alice, and sweet baby Spencer for the last part of their trip out here! Scott and Alice have SO much fun together. They are birds of a feather and are both high energy, silly, and fun-loving. I wouldn't see Scott for an hour at a time because he would be playing with Alice. (That literally never happens... Scott generally doesn't even like me to go down the stairs faster than him.)
I got some pictures of them before church!
 Cuties!
 Sailing with Grandpa!

We are getting so spoiled being able to use this pool whenever we want! Scott loves it.
The second weekend we were down in San Diego we took a day trip up to Santa Barbara to go to a book signing by one of my favorite bloggers! We decided to make a day of it and found some fun places to eat, road bikes, and went to the amazing Santa Barbara farmer's market.

All About Scott at 2 1/2!

Scotty is now 2 1/2 and just as happy, busy, and active as ever! He has always kept me on my toes as a Mom because he is so curious and excited about everything around him.
I wouldn't have it any other way.
He is such a sweet, loving boy and makes life fun!
Scott talks all.the.time. these days! It is kind of to the point that I don't always have an answer for all the questions he asks me. He just wants to know about everything everywhere we go. With all this talking he says the most hilarious things! It is so funny to get a glimpse of what is going on in his little mind.

Funny Things Scott says/does at 2 1/2:

- He tells Nate and I, "Mommy you awesome!" or "Daddy you awesome!" all day.

- He tells us "We had a really fun day!" at night when we are reading him his books.

- He suggests things and then follows up with “tha’d be kinda fun!!” Like - “Hey mommy let’s get ice cream. Tha’d be kinda fun!”

- He makes up songs all the time. There is one about Provo Beach Resort and my personal favorite the "Mommy where are you song?!" amongst others.

- When my Mom was in town she was helping him get dressed and said “you’re a really big boy!” Scott responded by saying “you’re a really big gah!” (He calls her Gah as short for Grandma)

- He calls his toy stuffed hamster a rooster.

- He calls an elevator an “elligator” like an alligator.

- He makes a funny “alligator face” and purses his lips together in a funny way.

- Some of his animals are named by the sound they make, rather than the kind of animal they are:

  • An Owl is a Hoo Hooo
  • A Monkey is an Eee-Ah-Ah
  • Other animals are just piggies, dogs, etc.
- Stuffed animals are hands down his favorite toy. He has an increasing number of "friends" in his crib at night. He loves to mug and chew on them!

- Sometimes he tells me “oh good job Mom!” or “you got it! you got it!” when I’m trying to do something.

- When he eats all his food he says “it went inside my mouth!”

- He loves to cheer B-Y-U!! really loud... At random times... like while sitting at stop lights.

- He asks for nuts before he gets put to sleep every night. As well as other things to delay bedtime...

- He loves to ride his scooter! He is really good at it and goes really fast around the neighborhood with Daddy.

- This summer he loved to go to 7 peaks and ride the tube slide with Daddy. He is also obsessed with Provo Beach Resort and asks to go there daily.

- He still loves to open and close doors and figure out how things work.

- He loves reading books and especially loves his Curious George books. He also went through a phase where he loved the “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie” books

- He is in love with The Hungry Caterpillar and the little narrated movie about it on Netflix.

- Whenever I put a skirt on he says “Look so pretty Mommy?!”

- He always says “Your destination will be on the right!” when we are driving.

We will always be over the moon about this little person!
He is the light and joy of our lives. Happy 2 1/2 Scotty!
