Santa Barbara Trip

2 weeks ago my friend Ellen (who lives in Utah) was having a baby shower in her home town of Valencia. My friends Caroline and Jessica decided to come down from Northern California to San Diego for a few days before the shower so we could all hang out in southern California! Jessica brought her 18-month-old and Caroline brought her 5-month-old! It was so fun to hang out as Moms. I love these girls!

This was not staged! Scott asked to "please may I hold her hand?" Too cute!

It was so fun to see Ellen at the shower! She was glowing!

The day of the baby shower we all drove up to LA together. Nate and Scott also followed along behind and went bike riding in Santa Monica while we were at the baby shower. When the shower was over they picked me up and we had a family day in Santa Barbara! I think we fell in love with that place.

Santa Barbara is full of gluten-free goddness! We got awesome deli sandwiches and bought 2 loaves of the gluten-free bread at the shop to take home.
The soap dispenser in the bathroom at the sandwich place literally exploded on Scott. He didn't know what to think about it which made it all the more hilarious to Nate and I. Luckily we brought an extra pair of clothes!
Getting ice cream at McConnell's!

Scott's 3rd Birthday!

Last week we celebrated Scott's 3rd Birthday! This year we kept things simple for his birthday celebrated with family! I can't believe Scott is 3! He is such a big boy with funny things to say all the time these days.

We started the day off right with birthday pancakes! The more candles to blow out the better for this guy. He was thrilled! He told Nate "Daddy maybe one day you will be 3. Then I will help you blow out your candles." He also kept thinking Santa had something to do with his birthday. He kept asking about when he was coming. Confusing excitement. But excitement none-the-less!

I asked Scott what he wanted to do on his birthday (park, zoo, beach, etc.) and he said he wanted to ride scooters on chalk roads outside. So we did just that all morning! No errands, no laundry, no dishes, just play time.
That night Uncle John and Great-Grandma came over to celebrate with us! We made tacos and had cake and ice cream.

More candles on a little cake! I asked him what he wished for and he said "A puppy!" Unfortunately, that is not going to happen anytime soon... I didn't even know he knew what wishing meant!
 Happy boy!
Scott got a bike for his birthday and has been loving it! Thank you Grandma and Grandpa! Scott had a very happy day! Happy Birthday Scotty!
