Half Marathon - Check!

This Saturday my friend Kate and I ran the Camp Pendleton Heartbreak Ridge Half Marathon!
It was a first half marathon for both of us.
We've been training for about 8 weeks now with short runs on Tuesday/Thursday and long runs on Saturday.
Considering the extreme-out-of-shape condition of my postpartum body (like I decided exercise was completely optional my entire pregnancy), I still kind of can't believe I pulled it off.
It was my goal just to RUN the whole time and we did it!
Our time was 2 hours 14 minutes (about 10 minute miles) and I will totally take that.
 Carbo-loading the night before!
Getting ready on race morning! Jolly Ranchers and energy GU totally saved my race.
Can I just say Kate is the best running partner EVER. Seriously! I couldn't have done it without her...
Our friend Brett also ran! Here's the team pre-race.
 Heading to the start...
Go!
It was the perfect running weather. Slightly overcast and not too hot. The course was very hilly to say the least. It was an out and back course and on the way back it totally made sense to me why the race is called heartbreak ridge...
Running to the finish!
I also couldn't have done it without Nate who was SO supportive and also went on runs with me during the week.
Krystle came to cheer for everyone! Brett ran the race with her Dad. How fun!

 Post-race! Woo hoo!
If you look closely my mouth is slightly blue in all these pictures from the Jolly Ranchers.
Finishing the race totally made all the training worth it.
Until next time Camp Pendleton!
